Wednesday 26.02, Nafs for Empowerment held the final conference of the psychosocial care program in the Jalazone and Qalandia refugee camps for its third year in the West Bank. The project was implemented by Nafs Association and NGO Japanese Frontline, and funded by The Japanese Foreign Office. The audience included many social figures and representatives of local centers, counselors and directors of schools, and ministries such like DR. Osama Abu AL Baha, the head of ministry of education in UNRWA. The conference was opened with The Palestinian national anthem, followed by director of Naf’s speech, Nasser Mattar. He talked about the importance of such project and the collaboration process with the Japanese party, and the historical agenda of the activities and their influence on children. Then, the secretary of the Nafs, Sahab Zalmout welcomed the audience and commented on the role of Nafs as An association in providing psychosocial care for children. DR. Osama Abu AL-Baha stressed on how effective the program was on children in schools and its role in developing their social communication skills. Dr.K the creator of the psychosocial program gave a presentation on the significance of the project internationally and specifically in Palestine. The facilitators namely, Huda AL far, Mai Dumeidi, and Haasan Dawabsheh took the stage to give brief explanation about the project entities and levels. The conference was closed with giving shields to the stakeholders and concerned representatives. The audience moved to the hall of the final presentation where children’s works were exhibited. The main purpose of this project was to get the happiness to children and mingle them into their community through overcoming their unforgettable experiences.
That was the final fruit of hard work that continued for 3 years, hopefully this is not the end of the tunnel. And still there are more to come.
