Psychosocial Meeting and Activities to Support Our People from Gaza Stranded in Ramallah
In this meeting, which brought together 29 women from Gaza, a range of activities and information were presented to help understand the impact of psychological trauma and stress on individuals. The session discussed the causes of these pressures, their effects, and the potential long-term harm they could cause. Effective methods and approaches for coping with these stresses were also presented, with a focus on the importance of self-protection from post-traumatic disorders.
The meeting included various activities aimed at promoting self-awareness, such as expressing emotions, using images as a tool for emotional expression, and “focused circles” activities, which helped build mutual trust among the participants. The importance of promoting positivity and building self-esteem as effective means to face psychological challenges was also highlighted.
In terms of child psychological support, another session was organized specifically for psychological release for children through a series of recreational activities that helped alleviate their psychological suffering. Gifts were also distributed to them as part of these activities.
The meeting provided an opportunity to enhance individuals’ understanding of their emotions and offer tools to help them overcome the psychological crisis they are experiencing. It also allowed for collective interaction, which contributes to building a strong support network, thereby enhancing the community’s ability to deal with psychological pressures in a collective and effective manner.
