Conclusion of the Second Training Course on First Aid and Psychosocial Support
The second training course on first aid and psychosocial support, as part of the project to enhance the role of Palestinian refugees in influencing various aspects of their lives, was concluded in cooperation and coordination with the Social Services and Social Affairs Program of UNRWA.
The course was conducted amidst the difficult conditions faced by our people, highlighting the importance of raising psychological and social awareness. The training involved a team of camp directors, service and social affairs program managers in the West Bank, the crisis intervention department, the engineering department, as well as the BALSEB team from UNRWA.
The course, attended by 17 participants, included a variety of theoretical and practical activities on psychological first aid, intervention methods, self-care techniques, and protection from psychological trauma risks. It also included the use of various activities, including image language, drawing, and diorama, and how to employ these techniques to facilitate work, strengthen human and professional relationships, and apply psychological intervention methods in their respective roles.
The course saw the participation of Ms. Lubna Mudia, Head of the Relief Program, Ms. Hanan Jayousi, Deputy Head of the Relief Program, and Ms. Suhair Sawalha, Director of the Gender Program. The training was led by Mr. Nasser Matar and the Nafas Empowerment Team.
At the conclusion of the training, participants expressed their gratitude to the organizers and trainers, emphasizing the importance of such courses and requesting additional sessions for themselves and fieldwork teams in these challenging circumstances.
