Conclusion of the Training Course on First Aid and Psychosocial Support
The training course on first aid and psychosocial support, held as part of the project to enhance the role of Palestinian refugees in influencing various aspects of their lives, was concluded in cooperation and coordination with the Social Services and Social Affairs Program of UNRWA.
The course was conducted amidst the challenging conditions faced by the Palestinian people, emphasizing the importance of psychological awareness. It was attended by a team of camp directors, service and social affairs program managers in the West Bank, the crisis intervention department, the engineering department, representatives from the Department of Refugee Affairs, and the BALSEB team from UNRWA.
The second day of training, attended by 21 participants, included a mix of theoretical and practical activities on intervention methods, self-care techniques, and protection from psychological trauma. Activities such as image language, drawing, and diorama techniques were utilized to facilitate work, strengthen human and professional relationships, and apply psychological intervention methods in their respective roles.
The session saw active participation from Ms. Hanan Jayousi, Deputy Head of the Program, and Ms. Suhair Sawalha, Director of the Gender Program. The training was led by Mr. Nasser Matar and the Nafas Empowerment Team.
At the conclusion of the course, participants expressed their gratitude to the trainers and program organizers, emphasizing the importance of such training and requesting additional sessions to benefit them and fieldwork teams.
