Psychosocial Support Sessions by the “Nafs for Empowerment” Team in Collaboration with Americares in the Forced Displacement Shelters in Khan Yunis, Gaza Strip.
Amid the ongoing war and the devastation it leaves behind, children in Gaza are living a reality beyond their ability to endure. In these shelters, where families have sought refuge in search of safety, childhood fades away amid anxiety and trauma.
This is where psychosocial support sessions come in as a lifeline not just to ease the pain, but to provide children with a space to express themselves, rebuild their confidence, and reconnect with life beyond the horrors of war. These moments are not merely recreational activities but real steps toward strengthening resilience and coping skills.
Despite the harsh circumstances, hope remains in the eyes of the children. However, this hope requires continuous care and support. Protecting childhood in Gaza goes beyond providing shelter and food; it also involves creating a psychologically safe environment that allows them to grow free from the scars of war.
