Images of recreational activities organized by the “Nafs” Empowerment Team in partnership with the Japanese organization “Front Line” inside forced displacement shelters in the Gaza Strip.
Amid a war that spares neither the young nor the old, children find themselves trapped in a cycle of fear and psychological distress, confined within shelters that were never truly safe havens. In the midst of this harsh reality, the efforts of the “Nafs” team provide them with a much-needed respite through recreational and creative activities, illuminating their darkened spaces and easing the burden of pain and loss that weighs heavily on their hearts.
Through play, art, and learning, children reclaim fragments of their stolen childhood, discover their hidden potential, and find a glimmer of hope amid the destruction. These activities are not merely moments of amusement but a lifeline that reconnects them to their humanity and grants them the strength to persevere despite the pain and loss.
Hope does not emerge in a void; it requires real support. Protecting the children of Gaza is not just about providing shelter and food but about fostering a psychologically safe environment that offers them a chance to live, away from the shadows of war and death.
