Nafs for Empowerment is proceeding in implementing the project: “Masahat- Youth Lead Change within the Community” funded by GIZ and targets youth groups in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Within the framework of the given project, Nafs implemented a series of activities and trainings about Youth Initiatives. The purpose was to develop the capacity of the targeted groups to assess the status of their local communities and identify topics around which youth initiatives could be built. The targeted youth were introduced to the principles of designing and executing initiatives in order to enhance youth’s role within the community and strengthen their involvement. The training was accomplished by expert trainers: Omar Rahhal, Hazem Abu Hilal, in the West Bank while the training in Gaza Strip was accomplished by trainer Talal Abu Rukba and trainer Ahmad Abdul- Wahab
The project was designed to create effective youth groups in the targeted localities in order to be able to develop the quality of life within their local communities and contribute to improve the community life in general. The project is implemented in Silwad, Kufur Malik, Rammmoun, Bourin, Mughayyer, and Fassayel villages in the West Bank as well as Rafah Youth Club and Rafah Services Center in Gaza Strip. It is expected that by the end f the training, youth groups will come out with community initiatives to be implemented in their localities and address community issues.
