Amid the ongoing war and the escalating killing machine that does not distinguish between young and old, children find themselves facing moments of deep sadness and constant psychological pressure. Amid the destruction, the forced shelter centers have become the only place many Palestinian families seek refuge in, searching for safety. However, this safety is but an illusion given the harsh living conditions these children endure.
For this reason, the activities organized by the Nafs Empowerment Team in partnership with Frontline Japan serve as a psychological refuge for children who have borne the unbearable pain of wars for years. These activities aim to create a creative environment capable of alleviating the psychological pressures children suffer from. Through play, art, and educational activities, the team gives them a chance to renew their hope in life and showcase hidden talents that may not have a chance to emerge in their tragic daily reality.
The activities are not merely games; they are a lifeline for children to feel their humanity away from the bombardment and destruction. Creativity remains a powerful tool to face a reality that steals smiles from their faces. Despite the difficult circumstances, hope still exists in the eyes of these children, who strive to move forward despite all the challenges surrounding them.
However, this hope can only be realized through our continued support for them. Protecting the rights of children in Gaza means not only providing food and shelter, but also ensuring a safe environment, both psychologically and physically, that allows them the opportunity to grow and create, away from the effects of war and death.
