Psychosocial Care brings together the concepts surrounding the psychological and the effects of the social structure upon the individual, it brings together the personal and the social, the private and the political, and between the micro and the macro.
Through the program, we work with different people and ages through bringing together groups that share similar experiences and burdens to initiate discussions and share thoughts and reach better understanding about the self, the past experiences and the future.
The program is based upon facilitation as the main tool for shared communication and enables the group to facilitate their own discussion in workshops and sessions. It also uses artistic media and interactive activities to better express oneself, initiate the flow of dialogue, get a sense of achievement and help groups reintegrate with their communities.
The program is based on the design of Dr. Norihiko Kwayama, representative of Frontline Japanese NGO, but is adapted accordingly to better attend to the needs of the different groups, ages and time frames.
